HGRA Rookie Grays - Week 4

Welcome back from the hot, hot holiday weekend! The heat isn't over yet, though. If temperatures stay high on Tuesday, we'll have a shorter practice with focus on hitting, less running. If your Gray has a bat or helmet, please bring it along to practice!

Also - if you know ahead of time that your Gray will be absent from practices or games, please let me know so I can adjust activities or positions. Thanks!

Reminders
Practice - Tuesday, 5/29, 6-7 pm, Groveland Field #2
Game - Grays vs. Spiders: Wednesday, 5/30, arrive by 6:15 pm, Groveland Field #3 (Sargent Ave. on the other side of the school)

Remember your shirts, hats, and gloves!

The weather looks hot on Tuesday, slightly cooler on Wednesday. Both days look to have a possibility of thunderstorms in the afternoon, so please watch your email for cancellations. Remember that Wednesday games will be played in light rain (no lightning), unless we hear from HGRA, which sometimes doesn't happen until 6 pm.

Post-game treats - Thanks to the Demings for Week 3 treats! Another great day for popsicles, and the kids really enjoyed them! All weeks currently have someone signed up. If a conflict comes up, just let me/everyone know. Please plan for simple and easy - juice boxes, non-caffeine soda, cookies, oranges, bananas, or popsicles are a few suggestions. Please bring enough so brothers and sisters can have one too!

Coaching help will always be appreciated during practices and games. Practices work best if there are 3-4 stations with different activities, and those will vary from week to week. Game coaching will be a bit easier, as it involves base coaching ("Run!"), hitting ("Who's up?"), and wrangling ("Don't climb the fence/swing the bat/throw things!"). Cheering is also a major responsibility - support your Grays!
